The man. The machine. The name. The Denver Deuce
Only a handful of man’s creations should ever be considered legendary. To be considered legendary a creation should embody both form and function; the creation should keep its deep secrets in plain sight to be discovered only upon a closer look. Something legendary never needs to be remembered or recalled because it has never once been forgotten or relegated to the recesses of a closed history. It lives every day. A legendary creation continuously inspires the creative sensibilities of men for ages; itself created by the modest craftsman who stumbled upon the treasured aesthetic not in an attempt to create, but in an intimate need to express a feeling.
One such craftsman was Henry Ford. In 1932 Ford reluctantly agreed to redesign the 1931 Model A. Never one for extravagance, Henry felt the 1931 model was functional, affordable, and looked just fine, but he was dogged by the evolving tastes of the American consumer who wanted something newer and more fresh. With a few strokes of the pen and some careful craftsmanship, Henry gave rise to what could only be called a legend. The 1932 Ford Deuce Roadster was born, and with it came an invigorated American buyer who fell in love with the redesign and purchased them at a fevered pace.
But the excitement would be short lived. Changing American tastes forced the automaker as well as competing automakers to adopt more aerodynamic concepts, scrapping the production of the Deuce shortly before 1933. And although the production stopped, the love affair was just beginning.
For generations since, car lovers across the globe have been building the Deuce and adding their own personal touches to make each car a treasured masterpiece. Henry provided the canvas for a million painters who created quite the picture.
In 1847 a small band of trappers camped along the Cherry Creek where it confluenced the South Platte river. These trappers were a hearty bunch who took to the west like black to the tin lizzie. Their determination would not allow them to succumb to the constant threat of Indian attack, to the threat of Colorado’s notoriously cold winters or the threat of starvation. They persevered and today a proud and resilient city has grown from the modest roots of the tenacious trappers and settlers.
Denver, Colorado brilliantly commands both the Rockies and the Plains, and proudly stands as a testament to the fortitude of those trappers who wouldn’t give up, who wouldn’t go back. With a colorful history of forward thinkers and innovators; of people who wouldn’t take no for an answer; of people who’s defiance to the mainstream only encouraged them to fortuitously continue on. To experience Denver is to experience the part of yourself that is feisty, bold, innovative, and the part of yourself that doesn’t know your limits, and doesn’t care.
As a tribute to this Grand City, Deuce America Corp. is proudly offering the 100% American made all-steel 32 Roadster body - The Denver Deuce. Although it maintains the same dimensions of Ford’s original car, several changes have been made. One might think it is either foolish or ambitious to try to improve on a legend, and which ever you think, we’ve done it. With the steel roll cage and safety latches, the Denver Deuce is perhaps the most durable steel body on the market today.
As you will determine from this brochure, the body is crafted with the kind of workmanship and quality that would make Ford himself nod in approval. And although we know its a beauty, we also know its tough and versatile. It comes with an impressive options package that allows you to turn this beauty into the roadster of your dreams. And because of this lifetime durability, it was only fitting to name it after the City where each one is assembled, the ever durable, ever tough, ever versatile, Mile Hi City – Denver, Colorado.
We craft the Denver Deuce because, like you, we love the classic beauty of a legendary treasure in automotive design. We build each one with a deep commitment to the integrity of the body, the integrity of our word that you will be satisfied. We build each one as a pat on the back to our namesake city which personifies our finest qualities of durability, long lasting, of the never say never attitude and the realization of your dream. And finally we build each one as a tribute to the man who embodies all of these qualities, a modest craftsman who shared his intimate need to express his feeling, and with that, who changed the history of mankind. Henry Ford.
We at Deuce America Corp. are quite honored to give to you, the Denver Deuce, what can only be called the continuation to the legend.
We don’t want tradition. We want to live in the present and the only history that is worth a tinker’s damn is the history we make today.
